My Story Part 2 {Sea battle}

*Thinking...* Ok...let's see...where did we leave off? *Sips hot chocolate, thinking with laptop in lap...* Ok, I got it. Captains Charity and Will were rushing on deck just to hear Capt. Bonnie exclaim, "Pirates!" *Sigh* Ok...here we go!

The decks of the Golden Dawn were suddenly alive and swarming with many bodies. Bonnie stood in the middle of the running crew members, sword in hand. "Charity, Will ~ it's Sky Strike!" Sky Strike was the leading ship in a group of ships called the Thunder Sails, a pirate band notorious in the Caribbean for killing, robbing, and leaving none alive. How this ship had strayed so far from the others was a mystery. The ship was large and armed, with blood red sails and ninety cannons. The ship grew closer. Charity ran to Bonnie's side and Will stood near the wheel.

He called out to the running crew members, "Everyone! Arm yourself! Weapons below decks! Return here as fast as you can. Gunners to your stations!" Charity found a sword and stood back-to-back with Bonnie. As the crew became armed and ready, the ship grew closer still. Soon they could see the opposing pirates, their snarls glinting in the sun from their golden teeth. The shouted and growled, their decks seemingly packed with the vicious scum. Soon they were throwing ropes and grapphling hooks at the Golden Dawn so they could board.

"Men," called Bonnie, her voice loud and clear, "Here they come! Give it all!" She grinned, swirling her sword. The ships grew closer and soon the ropes and hooks were making contact and embedding themselves in the wood. The crew fidgeted and brandished their weapons in anticipation. Several lines had been cut and snapped. A chain shot flew through the air. Men scrambled to get away from the falling mast. The ships were now no more than 10 yards away from each other.

"Fire!" exclaimed Will, swinging his sword and smiling when the cannons let loose their metal fury. Sky Strike fired back. Bonnie and Charity spun around, still back to back. Closer the ships grew...all the while the ships grew louder with the sound of cannonballs whizzing through the air.

"Ready?" Charity called, gripping her sword tightly. Bonnie watched as the pirates jumped over the railings and swarmed the deck.

"Bring it!" Bonnie called back. Together they began to hack and slice through the endless sea of pirates around them. They had incredible skill in working together, and they seemed to move and fight as one. Bonnie looked up from the pirate she had slain to find them surrounded. Charity dropped her weapon and leaned against Bonnie who lifted her onto her back as she spun in a circle, kicking anyone in their way.

"Look out!" called Will as a cannonblast shook the ship, sending both girls tumbling in opposite directions. Charity looked around, wondering where her sword was. Seeing a particularly nasty looking pirate coming toward her at an alarming speed, she grabbed the sword of a dead pirate nearby and met his blade. She lunged but he blocked. She hit but he side-stepped. He thrust his blade at her but she moved out the way and popped up behind him, slicing his back. He turned and swung at her feet. She jumped and aimed at his head. He saw it coming but he was too slow and cumbersome to block her. She continued to fight another pirate.

Bonnie stopped for a moment, noted the sickening color of the sky, and picked up another sword. Armed with a sword and cutlass, she attacked a group of pirates that had trapped some of her crew members. A burly looking pirate noticed her coming forward and laughed. She came at him, running, both weapons twirling at a high speed. He stuck out his leg to trip her. She sprawled across the deck and rolled over just in time to avoid his stab. Jumping up, she caught him off guard and she stabbed him in the stomach. Without stopping to clean her blade she kept fighting.

Will found himself fighting two Oriental twins that moved in sync with lightning speed. Just as the first one was about to stab his back, Bonnie thrust her weapon through his side. The other twin snarled in rage. Will and Bonnie circled him. Bonnie made a move for his feet. He jumped and Will brought his weapon down hard at his head.

"How are we doing?" asked Bonnie, briefly. They took a quick survey of the whole scene. The Golden Dawn was holding up pretty well but the Sky Strike was doing better. They had stronger cannons, a bigger crew, and endless weapons. They seemed to keep coming and coming. "Charity," called Bonnie, running up to her and joining her fight against a skinny pirate with an axe, "Who's the captain of the Sky Strike?"

"Um..." she said as she knocked out her enemy. She stopped, tilted her head sideways, and narrowed her eyes like she always did when thinking.
"That would be...Slyth Brandy," she said, a bit proud she could recall his name.

"Where is he?" Bonnie asked. Charity thought for a while as they fought a few random pirates.

"Probably in his cabin," she said, not mentioning all the details and calculations she had taken into account to figure that out. Will approached them.

"We need to meet with him and see what he wants," he said, "and I think only two of us should go." Charity and Will looked at Bonnie. Silence. She rolled her eyes.

"Go ahead," she said. They walked away. Bonnie grabbed Charity's sleeve. "Be careful, ok?" Charity nodded. Bonnie watched them as they found one of the ropes that connected the two ships. She gritted her teeth as another cannonball shattered part of the deck. The rope they were on snapped but they continued to climb it up to the other ship. There was no going back now.
