Hey it's Chair......ity.
Yea!! I'm blogging again. Sorry about that, I go through non-blogging periods every once in a while. Anyhoo, I never got to eat that German Chocolate Cake. :( Why? Well I went to get my sister's highchair from out of our car. Nothing is going to happen right? WRONG. When I opened the trunk of our car the cake fell out onto the concrete. The cake was also in my mother's ONLY 9 inch by 13 inch glass pan. There was alot of glass and I managed to cut myself once. It wasn't bad. My brother didn't even have to do first aid. I'm gonna miss that cake. It was good. And yes there was no salvaging any of it. It was a big mush pile of chocolate and coconut on the concrete. Sadness. What a waste of cake. Oh well. I still want that Shirley Temple though!!

Hmm....I wish I was a movie pirate that would super sweet. And after reading Bonnie's post I really REALLY want to be a movie pirate. Sooo anyway, when's that next story coming Bonnie? But I can do that sometime else. Hopefully. So yea!! My first ACTUAL blog (that other one didn't count) on the Pirate Brethren. You know what I want....I want a Shirley Temple. My Story Part 3 {Slyth Brandy}
*Chews chocolate bunny, eyes widening with every bite from extended hyperness* Ok, ok, ok, ok, ok, ok, ok, ok, ok, ok! Haha, I just wasted 10 minutes of your life! Or five, depending on how fast you read or how much chocolate you've had! Ha ha! Ha ha! Ha ha! Teehee! "Why are there so many colors? What are you trying to tell me?" ~ from youtube's How to be Emo
Back to the story...*breath* Where was I? *deep in thought* Aha! Will and Charity left to find the captain of the attacking ship, Sky Strike {captained by Slyth Brandy, for the forgetful ones out there} and left Bonnie to defend their own ship, Golden Dawn, with the rest of the crew. Since there's two sides of every story, let's take turns. Shall we? *Nod* Let's!
Captains Will Robin and Charity Kidd struggled to climb the now wet rope up the side of Sky Strike. Charity led the way, her small frame suggesting she was weak. Such an appearance was misleading. Her arms {though small they were} pulled her up the rope, ever quickened by the fear of being caught. Will thrashed below her, trying to use his feet to his advantage by entwining them in the rope and pushing up. Slowly, painfully, they made their way to the railing. Charity peeked over the edge and scanned the deck. Most of the crew were fighting on the other ship. She immediately thought of Bonnie and hoped she was alright. She pushed these thoughts aside and signaled Will to join her as she hopped over the rail.
Both Captains gasped at the size and grandeur of the ship. It must have been made of the glossiest, grandest, strongest wood they had ever seen. It shined and glistened, for it was wet with sea spray, making the golden tinged throughout the wood glitter. The red sails far above them rustled in the wind, casting brief shade over them as it passed under the sun. The railings were painted red with hints of gold. Will gazed across the vast, endless planks that made the upper decks of this wonderfully terrible ship. Somehow, in spite of the welcoming sight of timber and wood, the sights he had seen all his life, he felt that something was wrong. Something wasn't as it should be. Charity seemed to sense that too. Suddenly they both realized someone was watching them. Eyes wide and breaths held, they turned around.
Bonnie quickly looked around and joined in the brawl of the clashing crews. She singled out two mischievous pirates slyly sneaking toward the wheel. She drew her sword and headed after them. One was tall with light hair and a slight limp. The other was a bit shorter, a lot slower, and looked like he was missing an eye. They reached the wheel, cut the rope tying it down, and turned it around. Everyone on the deck fell or lost their balance. Bonnie grabbed a rail in the nick of time as the ship jolted. The pirates laughed. She gritted her teeth and headed toward them. They saw her coming and looked at each other.
Sword held ready, she asked, "And what do you think you're doing with my ship?" Then they both grinned. Their smiles were the most dentally inept she had ever seen. The taller one had several golden teeth. The other had hardly any at all, and the ones he did have were yellow. The tall one drew his long, curved knife. It had numerous notches in its blade, one for every person killed. He licked its edge, a wicked grin on his face. The other kept his hands on the wheel, making it turn and twist rapidly, sending everyone sprawling.
Bonnie stared at her opponent who began to come toward her. He lashed out at her. She blocked his blow and tried to hit his limping leg. He stepped back and connected two hits that she barely managed to stop. She ducked as the cruel knife sliced through the air above her and he let out an evil chuckle. She dodged around him and managed to stab his leg. He howled with rage and pain. His movements grew quicker as he seemed to dance around her. For a while they continued blocking and stabbing, a few strikes cutting each other but nothing serious or fatal. He swiped his blade at her face again and she turned her head so that his blade just slightly nicked her cheek. Five minutes later they were both bleeding and bruised. She hit his hand with her sword then turned and stomped on his foot. He bent over in pain and she drove her sword into his shoulder. He yelled and turned on her, somehow in the process managing to knock her weapon out of her hand. His partner in crime shook the ship again and she fell onto the deck. He grinned and raised his knife above his head.
Charity gasped. Two men were standing there, their weapons raised. One pointed his pistol at her and put his finger on the trigger.
"Captain!" said Will. The man stopped, lowered the weapon a fraction of an inch, and looked at him. "We need to see the Captain." The man shook his head and raised his pistol. Charity wasn't breathing. She was frightened. "Parley!" Will exclaimed. The man sighed, rolled his eyes, and tucked his pistol into his belt. The men grabbed the captains and led them to the quarters of Slyth Brandy. Charity had read about him. He was merciless. His men obeyed him out of fear and not respect. He was said to have killed his own men just to give a demonstration of what would happen to all those who slacked at their duties. Charity didn't know how much of this was true but she was both disgusted at the latter description and afraid. The pirates said nothing and the captains stayed silent, only communicating with confused looks. The pirates stopped in front of an oak door and Charity and Will hesitatingly entered.
The room was not lighted well. Only a few candles flickered on the walls, and even they cast very little light on the wooden walls, as if they were afraid of the infamous pirate as much as Charity was. The only things she could see in the dark room gave her little encouragement. A few different shrunken heads hung from various different strings and ropes. Bones decorated a table on which a lamp stood, made of bamboo and some animal skin with a gas lamp inside. Dirt and a thick red fluid stained the floor that would have been gorgeous. The whole room reeked like dead fish. She looked to her side, almost expecting a corpse to be hanging next to her. There wasn't. There was only an old sea chest, probably holding something valuable. All these things were eerie in themselves, but one thing sent shivers up and down Charity's spine; the Captain himself.
Slyth Brandy was a strange man. He was tall, strong, dark, and haunting. He wore dark clothes with traces of red, clothes that had many ruffles and buttons. His mouth was set in a hard line. His boots were crusted with mud. His jacket was thick and worn. His skin was dark yet smooth. But the most intriguing feature about him was his dark, mysterious eyes. They were expressionless holes in his face. They were hard yet wise. Taunting yet longing. Charity's curiosity twitched and her mind began racing, trying to remember everything she had ever read about him. He interrupted her thoughts with his deep voice.
"What are you doing on my ship?" he asked. Will stepped forward.
"What do you want?" Will asked, "You've separated yourself from your group, attacked without good reason, and we've no loot aboard at all."
"And what would you say is a good reason for attacking?" he said, his eyes gleaming from the dancing flames of a candle near him. Will said nothing. "How about to take back what is mine?"
"What do we have of yours?" Charity asked, her soft voice sounding panicked. She cleared her throat, just in case her fear could be disposed of as easily as her trembling.
He stood up from the chair he had been sitting in and walked over to a map mounted on the wall.
"I believe you recently acquired a stone of mine, a certain emerald." He turned to look at them just as they exchanged glances. "So you know the one?" he continued, "I would like it back."
Will narrowed his eyes. Charity frowned and said, "What's so valuable about this stone? I don't recall it being yours. I thought it was Chung Pea's."
"Chung Pea stole it from me! It was mine to begin with!" he said, anger rising as he took two steps toward Charity so that they were face-to-face. He drew his knife and held it to her throat.
"If it were not for the terms of parley, you would not make it off this ship alive, I would take my gem, and your ship would burn to the bottom of the ocean." Charity scarcely dared to breathe.
"Put the knife down," said Will. Slyth turned to look at him.
"Or what? You'll rob me of everything I have left? All I want is one stone. Give it to me or suffer the consequences." Will briefly glanced out the window where the ships were battling. A movement had caught his eye. He turned to Slyth with a confident air.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Will said. Slyth looked at him.
"And why not?"
"Because then you would have to face the rage of the captains of the Golden Dawn, a wrath unknown to anyone still living." Charity looked at him in, wondering if the stench had gotten to his head. Will continued, still confident and smug, "Lower your weapon now or your ship will be burned to a crisp and lost forever." Slyth's face twisted.
"You're bluffing," he said. Will shook his head. Slyth held the knife higher and closer to Charity's neck.
"You've left me no choice!" said Will, and he ran out of the room, followed slowly by Slyth leading Charity, still at the knife's point. Outside, high up in the sky, was something no one in that age had ever seen before, something terrifying and wonderful all at the same time.
Bonnie rolled over, barely dodging the pirate's blade. It stuck in the wood next to her and she kicked the pirate's hand as he tried to pull it out. She leapt up as he pulled out his pistol and held it an inch away from her forehead.
"Not fair," she said. Just then every man {and woman} on both ships stopped what they were doing and looked into the dark, foreboding skies. The pirate's arm lowered and everyone's jaws dropped. All weapons fell from the pirates, and every person on board craned their neck to look upward. A great beast was flying in the sky. It appeared to be a snake with bat wings and four legs, like a horse, but it was so huge and so black and so different that suddenly the whole deck erupted in motion. Many people jumped overboard, some continued fighting, and the few weak pirates on the ship hurled over the side before following their lunch over the edge. The pirates at the wheel both fainted {or died, she didn't care to check}. Bonnie simply stared at it. It's neck was long and its body was covered in black scales. Its head swiveled around, looking at everyone below it. It swooped down over the deck and up again, but when it came close she saw to eyes like full moons staring down at her. The tail it had was long yet graceful and it made great sweeping sounds in the air. It had terrible claws and sharp, white teeth.
Bonnie stared harder at this great creature. ...Was that ... a person on its back? Yes, there was a cloaked figure sitting on its back. As it once again swooped down she got a closer look. The figure turned this way and that, as if confused, then seemed to see something on the Sky Strike. She followed his gaze, trying to see beyond the rushing, panicking pirates and crew members. Will and Charity! They had just appeared on the other deck. She rushed to the rail, calling and waving, but they didn't hear her over the clamor. Will waved to the figure. Bonnie frowned. Then the creature's passenger nodded and the beast swooped over the deck, picking up someone who had been standing behind Charity. The creature took him very far up in the sky then dropped him from an alarming height into the sea, letting out a tremendous roar. The two captains then jumped into the sea. Bonnie looked around. She found a rope and tossed it to them, trying to keep an eye on the circling creature above. As she waited for them to board, she watched as the creature seemed to breathe over Sky Strike and it burst into flame!
Her eyes followed this creature as it continued to circle the ship, breathing its fire on every visible part of the ship. She put a hand to her mouth. Suddenly someone embraced her. She turned and Charity cocked her head.
"Are you...crying?" Bonnie shook her head. Charity's eyes widened and she said, "No, no, you don't need to be worried. I'm fine. I'm not hurt. Really, I'm all right. See?"
"It's not that," said Bonnie, pausing and trying not to cry, "That was such a nice ship!" Charity stared at her for a moment. Bonnie stared back. Then they both began laughing and giggling, hugging and dancing around. Will watched them, his eyebrows raised.
"I never will understand you," he said to them.
"Thank goodness for that!" exclaimed Bonnie. As the girls began talking, he looked to the figure in the sky.
"May I land?" said a voice in his head which he knew belonged to the figure.
"You have my permission," he replied, simply thinking that and knowing the figure would hear it in his head. The girls and the crew stopped talking and everyone moved away from the middle of the deck as the beast flew over the spot. Bonnie held her hand up to her eyes. It landed gracefully and somehow it was lighter than it looked, for the Golden Dawn only rocked a bit, creating gentle waves. Everyone that wasn't part of the crew jumped over board both from fear of being discovered and fear of ... whatever that thing was. Bonnie walked up to Will, eyes still on the creature.
"Will? What is that?" she asked slowly. He turned to look at her as Charity joined them.
"That," he said, pausing for dramatic effect, in which the beast gave a roar like thunder, "Is a dragon."

My Story Part 2 {Sea battle}
*Thinking...* Ok...let's see...where did we leave off? *Sips hot chocolate, thinking with laptop in lap...* Ok, I got it. Captains Charity and Will were rushing on deck just to hear Capt. Bonnie exclaim, "Pirates!" *Sigh* Ok...here we go!
The decks of the Golden Dawn were suddenly alive and swarming with many bodies. Bonnie stood in the middle of the running crew members, sword in hand. "Charity, Will ~ it's Sky Strike!" Sky Strike was the leading ship in a group of ships called the Thunder Sails, a pirate band notorious in the Caribbean for killing, robbing, and leaving none alive. How this ship had strayed so far from the others was a mystery. The ship was large and armed, with blood red sails and ninety cannons. The ship grew closer. Charity ran to Bonnie's side and Will stood near the wheel.
He called out to the running crew members, "Everyone! Arm yourself! Weapons below decks! Return here as fast as you can. Gunners to your stations!" Charity found a sword and stood back-to-back with Bonnie. As the crew became armed and ready, the ship grew closer still. Soon they could see the opposing pirates, their snarls glinting in the sun from their golden teeth. The shouted and growled, their decks seemingly packed with the vicious scum. Soon they were throwing ropes and grapphling hooks at the Golden Dawn so they could board.
"Men," called Bonnie, her voice loud and clear, "Here they come! Give it all!" She grinned, swirling her sword. The ships grew closer and soon the ropes and hooks were making contact and embedding themselves in the wood. The crew fidgeted and brandished their weapons in anticipation. Several lines had been cut and snapped. A chain shot flew through the air. Men scrambled to get away from the falling mast. The ships were now no more than 10 yards away from each other.
"Fire!" exclaimed Will, swinging his sword and smiling when the cannons let loose their metal fury. Sky Strike fired back. Bonnie and Charity spun around, still back to back. Closer the ships grew...all the while the ships grew louder with the sound of cannonballs whizzing through the air.
"Ready?" Charity called, gripping her sword tightly. Bonnie watched as the pirates jumped over the railings and swarmed the deck.
"Bring it!" Bonnie called back. Together they began to hack and slice through the endless sea of pirates around them. They had incredible skill in working together, and they seemed to move and fight as one. Bonnie looked up from the pirate she had slain to find them surrounded. Charity dropped her weapon and leaned against Bonnie who lifted her onto her back as she spun in a circle, kicking anyone in their way.
"Look out!" called Will as a cannonblast shook the ship, sending both girls tumbling in opposite directions. Charity looked around, wondering where her sword was. Seeing a particularly nasty looking pirate coming toward her at an alarming speed, she grabbed the sword of a dead pirate nearby and met his blade. She lunged but he blocked. She hit but he side-stepped. He thrust his blade at her but she moved out the way and popped up behind him, slicing his back. He turned and swung at her feet. She jumped and aimed at his head. He saw it coming but he was too slow and cumbersome to block her. She continued to fight another pirate.
Bonnie stopped for a moment, noted the sickening color of the sky, and picked up another sword. Armed with a sword and cutlass, she attacked a group of pirates that had trapped some of her crew members. A burly looking pirate noticed her coming forward and laughed. She came at him, running, both weapons twirling at a high speed. He stuck out his leg to trip her. She sprawled across the deck and rolled over just in time to avoid his stab. Jumping up, she caught him off guard and she stabbed him in the stomach. Without stopping to clean her blade she kept fighting.
Will found himself fighting two Oriental twins that moved in sync with lightning speed. Just as the first one was about to stab his back, Bonnie thrust her weapon through his side. The other twin snarled in rage. Will and Bonnie circled him. Bonnie made a move for his feet. He jumped and Will brought his weapon down hard at his head.
"How are we doing?" asked Bonnie, briefly. They took a quick survey of the whole scene. The Golden Dawn was holding up pretty well but the Sky Strike was doing better. They had stronger cannons, a bigger crew, and endless weapons. They seemed to keep coming and coming. "Charity," called Bonnie, running up to her and joining her fight against a skinny pirate with an axe, "Who's the captain of the Sky Strike?"
"Um..." she said as she knocked out her enemy. She stopped, tilted her head sideways, and narrowed her eyes like she always did when thinking.
"That would be...Slyth Brandy," she said, a bit proud she could recall his name.
"Where is he?" Bonnie asked. Charity thought for a while as they fought a few random pirates.
"Probably in his cabin," she said, not mentioning all the details and calculations she had taken into account to figure that out. Will approached them.
"We need to meet with him and see what he wants," he said, "and I think only two of us should go." Charity and Will looked at Bonnie. Silence. She rolled her eyes.
"Go ahead," she said. They walked away. Bonnie grabbed Charity's sleeve. "Be careful, ok?" Charity nodded. Bonnie watched them as they found one of the ropes that connected the two ships. She gritted her teeth as another cannonball shattered part of the deck. The rope they were on snapped but they continued to climb it up to the other ship. There was no going back now.

My Story Part 1 {The beginning of a LONG story}
Ok, NOW I'm inspired. Let's see how this goes. I'm just going to write down whatever pops into my head, ok? Ok. Let's go. Btw, this is Bonnie, so NOBODY has the right to go back and change anything I've written, savvy? Ok then. Here we go.
The air was cool, the sea was calm, and the docks were covered in swirling mist. The morning was only just waking, the sun still absent from the sky on this lonely island port off Jamaica. The shops and ships were dark against the mist, and nothing on the dock stirred to shatter the silence. Nothing, that was, except the silent figure standing by a lonely shop who watched the sleeping town through narrowed green eyes. She was wearing dark brown pants, a white shirt, a black vest, and a leather jacket. Her straight, blonde hair hung in a long ponytail. She was short, thin, and small, but her size allowed her to wait by the shop, unseen, unnoticed. She breathed in the cool air, her eyes sweeping the docks once more, searching...waiting... The longer she stood there waiting, the more she began to grow fearful and a bit apprehensive.
Suddenly, a form sidled up beside her with a flourish. She nervously turned to look at the new arrival. She was also a girl, dressed in similar attire, but with a sword and two daggers strapped to her colorful belt and her hair tucked underneath her leather hat. Her eyes were green now, with a tint of grey. Her body was tall and had a stronger build. They said nothing and stayed still, except for a slight nod of acknowledgement from the first figure as she calmed down. The second figure pulled her leather coat tighter around her when a gust of wind passed by them.
The seconds passed by, and the taller girl began to grow restless. She took out her dagger and began toying with it, tossing and catching it rapidly. The small figure continued her sweeping gaze around the port, her nerves rising continually. Come on... she thought to herself. Five minutes. Ten. If he wasn't here soon they would leave without him. As she thought about that possibility, the taller form silently grabbed her arm and pulled her to the ground. Someone was coming. They crouched near the base of the stone building and held their breaths. Two figures, outlined in the mist, walked past. They were both carrying rifles. Soldiers! They waited until the soldiers disappeared into the mists. The girls exchanged glances. "Time to go," The tall one said quietly.
"Can't we just--" began the short one, but was interrupted by gunshot from the direction the soldiers had gone. The girls lept to their feet. The tall one drew her sword, a smile lifting the corners of her mouth. The short one pulled out a hidden pistol from her belt, looking nervously around. They stopped for a moment, looking to each side of them, then stared at the sky. Silence. They found themselves holding their breaths again. BOOM! A firework erupted, showering the port in shades of red with sparks flying everywhere. The short girl began running, the tall one following her with a wide grin on her face.
They made their way to a large moored ship nearby, a Spanish galleon that looked almost radiant in the morning glow. The words Golden Dawn were painted in bright red letters on the bow. The two girls began clamoring aboard at once, the whole crew jumping to life and getting the ship ready. After helping tie a few ropes they were ready to lift the anchor. "He's not going to make it!" said the short girl. The other was leaning over the edge of the railing, staring at the dock.
"Don't bet on it," she said, a small smile still on her face. Looking over the rail, both girls could see shapes erupting from the mist. A boy was running toward the ship, two soldiers chasing him. He wore dark boots, light pants, a red belt with two pistols and a sword, and a brown shirt. He had a dark jacket and a hat as well. He ran strangely, dodging this way and that, occasionally swerving left or right in case they fired. Trying to conceal a smile, the small girl raised the anchor. The other stood near the wheel. The running boy jumped into the water just as the soldiers began firing. The girl nearest the anchor threw him a rope, which he grabbed. A few minutes later he had joined them on the deck, his brown hair ruffled from the wind.
Both girls hid their smiles. He moved to stand beside them at the wheel.
"Captain William Robin, I do believe you're late," said the girl who was gripping the wheel tightly. Her face was hard and serious.
"I'm so sorry, but I made a little side-trip," he said, holding up a fine knife with an emerald embedded in the handle. She scowled but greedily eyed the blade.
The other girl said softly, "Did you get it?" He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small object triumphantly.
"Whoa," she said, her eyes glittering. It was a small stone, a sparkling green color about the size of a grape. The girl at the wheel asked, "So, where to?" The boy paced behind her.
"Well, we don't know much about it. We know that this was the only thing Chung stole, and he left everyone alive...there has to be something special about this. I have no idea what that is, though. So that only leaves one option..."
The two girls stared at him, one with a smile and the other with concerned paranoia.
They said together, "Tia Dalma." Will nodded.
"Bonnie, if you would be so kind," he said, "Isla de Murtagh, please." The girl gripping the wheel nodded, still smiling, happy to be sailing the sea again. She began humming a sea shanty as she spun the wheel in the correct direction.
The other girl followed Will to his cabin. The room was large and well lit with oil lanterns and a few candles. Charts and maps covered the table and the windows were large and dark; since captain's quarters were always below deck, they could see fish swimming around in the water.
"Charity, I need your brainpower. Think with me. Why would a notorious pirate like Chung Pea attack the governor's ships only to steal this?" They both looked at the gem that Will placed on the table, enchanted by the way it glittered.
Charity took it and held it up in the latern light. The light reflected off it and bounced in every direction, bathing the room in several shades of green. "Wow," Charity said softly, "I've never seen anything like this before! I've never read about it, either. Perhaps he stole it to sell it, but that doesn't makes sense because there had to have been more jewels and wealth than just this on that ship." She placed it on the table and glanced up at Will. "I guess we'll just have to wait until we get there." She sighed.
"I'll go help the cook with dinner," she said.
"Good idea," he agreed. They began to walk back up to the main deck when they suddenly heard the sound of hurried feet and shouting. When they reached the deck they saw that Bonnie had tied the wheel in place and was standing in the center of the ship, amidst the running crew members, sword held ready.
"Will! Charity! Pirates!"
To be continued...
